The health benefits of singing have never been more widely acknowledged and researched. Our Singing for Health programme is led by Choral Entrepreneur Cerys Purser and she is setting up some very exciting projects with a range of partners.
Our poster promotes Sing for Joy, a singing for health group set up in partnership with Chase Meadow Community Centre and linked with Asthma and Lung Health UK.
We are delighted to be working in partnership with local and very wonderful charity Kissing it Better and Cerys – supported by Caty from KiB – is about to deliver our very first Singing Care session for patients at Warwick Hospital.
Schools are very aware of the importance of emotional wellbeing for children and there has been a very positive response to our programme to establish wellbeing singing groups at our local partner schools – groups that then go out into the community to share their singing as part of our Singing Stages project.
With a Side of Singing is a wonderful package of introductory singing activities – specifically designed to introduce people – young and old – to the joys and benefits of singing.
Intergenerational singing is very important to us and our next Community Singing Workshop is on Sunday January 21. This is in partnership with the Warwick Schools Foundation who provide a wonderful venue free of charge. This workshop is a Family Singing Event and we hope to get children, parents and grandparents singing together.
